Since opening our doors in 1995, Dover Park Hospice have brought holistic hospice care to more than 8,000 patients. In 2011 – 2012, we added 25% to our in-patient capacity so that we can care for more patients, and also rolled out our home care team to provide end-of-life care to patients who wish to spend their last journey at home.
The increase in patient intake and extension of care means that our operating expenditure has increased significantly, with a projected annual expenditure of $10.9 million for FY 2013/14. Furthermore, the hospice is also expanding our Allied Health Team as part of our efforts to improve the psychosocial support for patients and their families.
The annual Dover Park Hospice Sunflower Ball is our main fundraising event for this year and we're hoping to raise $1.2 million through the event.
To recognise our humble beginnings more than 20 years ago and how far we have come, the theme for this year's ball is "Nineties to Now". Our patron, President Tony Tan Keng Yam will be gracing the occasion as our Guest of Honour.
Singapore Chef Willin Low, whose modern Singapore cuisine has been feted by the New York Times, will be collaborating with the culinary team at the Shangri-La Hotel to present special dishes from the past two decades.
We hope to have your company and support at this year's Dover Park Hospice Sunflower Ball. Should you wish to support this event by taking a table or making a donation, feel free to contact Manager, Donor Management, Ms Lilian Lee at firstname.lastname@example.org. or 6500 7275.
Thank you for helping us making every moment matter!
