Mr Simon Ng’s Story

After a fall in November 2024, Mr Simon Ng (黄财福), found out that he had a brain-related condition. He was referred to Dover Park Hospice Day Care in February 2025. Having spent 40 years in construction to support his family, Mr Simon, 81, is adjusting to life as a patient. To help his family financially, Dover Park Hospice social work team arranged monthly provisions for them and referred his partner for caregiver support. Now, Mr Simon attends our Day Care every day. This provides caregiver respite for his partner and is where Mr Simon has rediscovered his passion in Chinese calligraphy which he had set aside in his youth. Mr Simon shared that when he is painting, he feels calm and confident. Since then, he has created several paintings that decorate our Day Care walls – and he will keep creating more.

Your contribution ensures that #everymomentmatters for patients like Mr Simon Ng, allowing us to provide Dignity, Personhood and Honour to our patients as they embark on their final journeys in life. As an Institution of a Public Character (IPC), your donation will be eligible for 250% tax deduction.
