Madam Chew Nak Nak @ Choo Guak Eng loved making art and her work has had brought happiness to the people she met and cared for her.
During her stay at Dover Park Hospice in December 2020, Madam Chew enjoyed the art therapy sessions and shared her thoughts behind her art with our Art Therapist.
One of the art pieces was an eagle mosaic which demonstrated Madam Chew’s resilience in overcoming many challenges in her life. Through the painting, she wanted to empower and encourage others to renew their strength in hope and to soar on wings like eagles, just as she did.
With another art piece that featured a watercolour painting of rose, Madam Chew expressed her gratitude towards the staff who have been taking care of her:
“Thank you for loving me. I am contented and happy. May you do well in your work and be healthy. I love you.”
